Pokemon! Gotta Catch Them All

So my title really has nothing to do with today, except that I kept busting out singing that.

We picked Erin up today and he's been hanging out.  We went to Best Buy and I messed with the Macbook Pros and the FlipHDs.  I want one of each! K thanks!

I found a card at Best Buy for a free 30 days of freerealms.com.  SWEET!  I've been playing it for the last 3 hours or so.  Between that and keeping up with my reading challenge I'll be very entertained through February.

I really haven't done much else today.  I've felt kind of crappy all day.

So this is short. I'm sorry I am such a boring person.

Off to read a little and then have some dream time. :)

The Reason For My Obsession.

Aliens In a Spaceship is my favorite episode of Bones by far. Hands down incredibly amazing!

That's all. See ya tomorrow!

I Love Dr. Jack Hodgins!

I finished reading A Great and Terrible Beauty today.  It was so good.  I love the character of Gemma Doyle and Felicity is sort of growing on me.  For those who don't have a clue what I'm talking about, this book is about a girl named Gemma who moves to a London boarding school when tragedy strikes her family.  She comes to find she has mystical powers and ties to an organization called The Order.  This book is set in the 1800's and it works so well with the plot.  So many sci-fi books are set in today's time periods that it's refreshing to read something a bit different.  Libba Bray is a literary genius and this story is very unique.  I can't wait to read more!

Speaking of which, I started the second book in this series, Rebel Angels, and I'm pretty far along.  It's just as good as the first one and I'm loving it so far.

I did laundry, dishes, cleaned our room a bit, and washed the dogs also today.  I feel like I had a pretty productive Friday.  I followed this all up with some episodes of Bones Season 2 and I'm about ready to head off to bed.

I'm excited for a weekend with my hubby with no plans involved, except maybe some Radius Church Sunday morning.

I'm making French Toast in the morning, so tomorrow should be awesome. :)

Current Book Count: 11...I have to finish Rebel Angels before the 31st to make this an even number for the month. I'm weird like that. :)

Happy Birthday to Me!

I turned 25 today.  I don't want to be 25.  I feel so old.  OK I know 25 is still really young, but it doesn't feel that way at all.  I haven't accomplished much in the last 25 years.  Here's to doing something exciting in the years to come. :)

I went to Sweet Tomatoes with my hubby tonight.  I love salad!  Sweet Tomatoes is the best place ever.  Afterward we went to Target and bought the first three seasons of Bones for $60 bucks.  It would have cost us $150 at Best Buy for the same stuff.  People at Best Buy do drugs.

I haven't read today, I know I know...sue me.  I spent my day geeking out online.  I'll get back to reading A Great and Terrible Beauty tomorrow.

Off to watch Bones Season 2!!! I'm super stoked!

If Only Life Was As Easy As Farmville.

I spent most of today revamping my farm on Farmville. Oh man do I feel like a total loser. Haha.  I wish life was as easy as Farmville though.  You can change whatever you don't like, buy whatever you need, and have tons of neighbors to visit as often as you'd like.  It's totally the sweet life.  I wish buying a house and having friends was that easy.  We're still waiting to hear back on the house and then we have to get it inspected.  So hopefully everything goes ok with the inspection, otherwise we're back at square one.

I read some more of A Great and Terrible Beauty.  It's really really awesome so far.  I love the main character, Gemma. She's witty, sarcastic, and so brilliant.  Libba Bray is a pretty awesome writer too. I can say I am impressed with her so far. I know I said I'd finish this one today, but I spent way to much time on Facebook this afternoon.

I also joined GoodReads today.  I'll be using that to also keep track of what I've read and are reading this year.  If you have any book recommendations you can send them to me on there as well as in comments on here.  Go be my friend and join up!  I love friends!

Ok I'm off to read some more while my hubby plays Tekken.  Ah our life is awesome.  :)

See ya tomorrow.

I'm Such a Kid

I finished 13 Little Blue Envelopes this morning.  It was just as great as it was the first time I read it.  I'm really into books that are set in Europe recently.  I think I'm really infatuated with Europe.  Especially those that take place in England. Oh man all these Harry Potter and Euro-Youtubers are getting to me. Haha. Anyway, this book is awesome and you should read it. :)  Maureen Johnson is made of pure awesome.

I started playing on FreeRealms today.  It's like SIMS meets World of Warcraft.  It's actually really fun.  I played for like 7 hours straight.  I might have to get a membership once I reach level 5 on all the jobs.  Oh man I'm leaking nerd out of all my pores.

I'm off to continue reading A Great and Terrible Beauty.  It's really good so far. I should finish it tomorrow.  I'll give a better rating then.

So Yesterday

I finished reading So Yesterday by Scott Westerfeld today.  It was pretty awesome.  I really love his books.  This one was another fictional look into consumerism and trends.  I love that his writing is geared towards someone with a mind and isn't just some brainless crap.  It really makes you think about why you wear what you wear and why fashion is the way that it is.  Definitely recommended! It should be a quick read if you don't slack off like me.

I started 13 Little Blue Envelopes by Maureen Johnson.  I read this one a really long time ago, but one that I wanted to re-read during this challenge.  I'm surprised I even found a copy.  I haven't been able to find any Maureen Johnson books anywhere.  Not even at the bigger book chains.

I was also pretty productive today.  I took down the Christmas ornaments and put them away!  It's about time. I know. Shush.  I also baked muffins for my hubby to eat before work.

Turtle said we got the house and should be able to move in at the end of February.  Mikey is going to talk to him tomorrow about the whole extra roommate issue and hopefully get it all figured out.  I really want to move and this house will be pretty awesome, but I can't live with more than just Turtle.  I'm almost 25 and married.  I don't need some 21 year old kid living in my house.

That's about it for today.  I can't think of anything else.  Oh if you haven't checked out Italktosnakes or Luke Conard on youtube. Do that.  They're awesome.

One of Those Days

I'm finding it harder some days than others to write in this.  Some days I just don't do anything worth writing about.

Today has been one of those days.

Tomorrow I'll get back on my reading schedule, though I can't guarantee more exciting posts.  I took a bit of a break this weekend.  It was nice.

Gotta Catch Them All!

We went to Bookman's today and I bought a Gameboy Color and Pokemon Blue.  Man I am so cool.  I've been playing it non-stop for the last 5 hours.  I don't know how I've lived without ever playing this game.

Before going to Bookman's and drowning in my new Pokemon obsession we went and looked at the house Turtle is trying to get.  It's ok I guess.  A lot better than the other one.  It's got a really strange layout, but it's not horrid.  I'm going nuts with this whole roommate issue.  I won't get into it on here in case there are roving eyes.

Anyway, I love Pokemon!  In case you missed that before.  Haha.

Off to sleep and rest my brain.

Oh and I didn't read at all today.  I'm bad.

Night Interwebz.

Trucks, Quads and Basketball

I watched Mason today.  He's super cute.  He's getting really good at walking and talking.  He is in the mimic stage so he'll say about every other word you say.  We played with his toys and walked around outside for a little bit.  All in all a fun time.

I caught up on Jersey Shore today.  It's such a stupid brainless show, but I love it.  Snookie and Vinny are my favorites by far.

I also read some of So Yesterday, but I'm not finished with it because I really didn't spend too much time reading it.

It's still raining...I'm sort of sick of it now. Everything is wet and muddy and gross.

I'm sort of in a bad mood, so I'm going to go watch Bones and cuddle with the hubby.

See ya tomorrow.

Vampire Diaries is Back!

I didn't do anything noteworthy today.

I mostly spent all day watching tv and checking out the crazy rain outside.  The weather is intense.  We even have a tornado warning.  Is this the end of the world??? Haha.

Vampire Diaries season 2 started today.  It was so good!  I love Damon so much!  Sara and I share in that obsession.

I started reading So Yesterday, but I'm a bit burned out from all the Harry Potter.  I think I'm on a good roll to take a bit of a break.

I'm watching Mason tomorrow, so I'll probably read a bunch over there.  I might get sucked in by having cable television and video games.  Haha.

Ok off to watch tv until my hubby gets home and we can start watching Bones!  We've watched the first 2 disks of the season.  Definitely have to buy the next season asap!

See ya tomorrow!

Good Eats.

Went on a date tonight with my Hubby. We went to Fridays. Good eats.

Afterwards we went to Bookman's. I got 2 more books to add to my collection! I've got two huge piles going now.

Speaking of books, I finished Deathly Hollows today! Oh man it was so good. I definitely got emotional towards the end. I can't wait for the last two movies. I wonder how they're going to split the story.

Tomorrow I'm going to start So Yesterday by Scott Westerfeld. I should be moving along much faster from here on out.

I Heart This is Energy!!!

I got my This is Energy shirt today! Isn't it awesome!

I finished Half-Blood Prince last night! I cried a ton at the end. It was the best one so far.

Read a bunch of Deathly Hollows today. It's so good.

We've been watching lots of Bones this week. I love it so much!

Watching Bones now. So off so I can pay more attention.

This Post Was From My Phone...

It some how got all screwed up.  This is what it was supposed to say.

I'm in bed reading Harry Potter and writing this from my phone.  All I've done today is read Half-Blood Prince.  I'm going to try to finish it before I go to sleep.  I have about a hundred pages to go.  I'll be spending tomorrow reading Deathly Hollows.  Yay I'm almost done!  See you tomorrow!

Guacamole, Ukulele song!

Alli was here today. We bonded while playing on Facebook. She thinks I spend to much time online and not in the real world.  So what. Haha. I like the interwebz. They make me happy.

I'm still reading Half-Blood Prince.  No surprise there.  These HP books take me a while to get through.

I really can't think what to write.

Last night we stayed up till like 2am laughing and joking around with each other.  It was nice.  I miss the high school days when we had no cares in the world. Let's go back to then. K?

Off to read some more. Nothing exciting to write about.  I'm notsome.  I know.

Meant for Each Other.

I'm going to start this post with a little antidote from today.

I've decided my husband and I are definitely meant for each other (not that I didn't already know this).  We were leaving Wal-Mart tonight and this lady stopped in the middle of the entrance to the driveway to wait for us to pull out. We had just walked up to our car. At the same time we both said, let's take our time.  Haha.  We are definitely perfect together.

I started reading Half-Blood Prince today. It's good so far. I'm a little over 100 pages into it. This has been my favorite movie so far, so I'm pretty sure I'm going to enjoy the book.

Other than that I just helped my mom with a yard sale and didn't do a whole lot else. I did get a bunch of books to add to my growing pile though!

My bestie is here so we're going to hang out tomorrow. :) Hopefully I have some fun little kid stories to write about tomorrow. Evan always comes up with the best stuff.  For instance, he just laid there fighting sleep for the last half hour singing to himself and repeating random statements from Mikey's video game.  I couldn't help but smile.

Off to bed or something.  Catch ya later.

I'll Love You Forevermore...

You'll never feel what it's like to be alone.

Random This is Energy lyrics :).  I finally figured out my stuff with my shirt. They're mailing me a new one and it's on its way! I'm so excited!

I watched more of Dexter today. I'm totally hooked on this show! It's amazing.

I also stumbled upon a ton of book nerd blogs today.  I'm totally making my life about words, books, and literacy this year. Oh and I've taken up a higher challenge of 100 books in 2010. My list is in the sidebar. I'll update it as I read more.  Keep looking in the posts for reviews on books I really like.  I'm also doing a Young Adult challenge, but I'm mostly only reading YA books anyway.  You can check out some of these blogs in my stalk list.

I have a follower! Hi there...if you're reading this. :)

Alli is going to make a blog tomorrow and then I'll have two followers! How exciting!

We went to Ky's tonight.  Brenda was there. It was awkward.

Enough about that...

I got the last two Harry Potter's! I'm so excited to finish the series.  I want to know what happens in number 7! EEEEEK!  So tomorrow my reading will start up again.  Taking a Dexter break.  I might try to watch one episode a day until I'm caught up.

Well that's about it for today.  See ya tomorrow. :)

I OMG'ed OUTLOUD!

I finished the Uglies series today.  All in all I really liked this trilogy and I love the way that Scott Westerfeld writes! He's amazing. I wasn't to keen on the fact that Tally jumps from identity to identity, but all in all it panned out nicely. I won't write a whole lot more on the plot in case someone actually reads this.  I don't want to create any spoilers.  I do however recommend this series to anyone who enjoys young adult fiction and sci-fi sort of worlds.  Good stuff.

I also finished the first season of Dexter tonight and all I have to say is AMAZING!  This first season was awesome and really pulled me in.  I love the characters, especially Dexter and Debra.  This show is a much watch, especially for those who love crime shows and stuff that makes you go hmmm.  Again I won't go into plot to much, but I totally didn't see any of the big stuff coming. Totally shockers and plot twists and OMG moments for sure.  I yelled oh my God outloud at many moments. :)  I can't wait to start season 2 tomorrow!

I'm taking a break from reading tomorrow and only watching Dexter all day.  I'm going tomorrow night to pick up the last two Harry Potters, so I don't want to start anything new.  I know I'll want to finish HP once I have the books in my possession.

Ok off to watch late night tv with the hubby and go to sleep.

Books Books Books!

I spent today doing a lot of reading!

I finished Uglies and then read Pretties and now I'm working on Specials.

Man I am a reading machine!

We went and looked at the house tonight.  I can't say that I love it. It's ok.  I really think the master bedroom is way too tiny, but Mikey thinks it'll work.  I'm trying to picture the house as a shell since we can paint and put in new carpet and stuff eventually. I guess in that sense it's alright. I just really hate the size of the bedroom. Oh well I'm not the one buying it and it's not like we're signing in blood that we'll live there forever.  There is no where to put the mats either, so I don't know what Turtle is going to do about that. I refuse to have mats in my living room. It's not going to happen.  Anyway, We're placing a bid on it today, but I'm still searching for something better.

Off to bed for Manda. I'm so tired and my tooth is killing me!

Current Book Count: 5..Woohoo!

You Give Me the F***ing Creeps.

I spent all day today watching Dexter season 1.  I'm on episode 7 and I love it! It's so great. A bit on the creepy side, but great!  I love the main character Dexter.  He is insane and such an amazing actor.

Other than that I did nothing else.  I haven't read at all today.  I'll read a little before bed.

Oh Mikey and Turtle might have found a house! I'm going to see it tomorrow.  It sounds promising.  I'm not sure if I'm too keen on the bedroom layout, but I guess I'll get over it.

That's about it for today in the oh so exciting life of Manda.

Yup.

OK.

See ya.

Chugging Along

I spent today catching up on my reading. :)

I finished Order of the Phoenix! I really don't think these books are as AWESOME as everyone says, but they're pretty good. They're just long. I like all the Dumbledore's Army stuff. Good reading.

I'm taking a break from Harry Potter till Friday when I can get the last two books. I'm going to read some non-potter books till then.

I read and finished The Actual Real Reality of Jennifer James today too.  I flew through that one pretty quick.  It was obviously very teen geared, as it was a teen book, but it was pretty good. I read it from beginning to end with only a break to eat dinner. It was written in journal form what made it interesting.  A recommended read for those who like the teen genre.

I also started reading Uglies. It seems interesting so far. I'm going to go rest my reading brain for a bit and watch some tv.

Current Book Count: 3...I feel a bit more accomplished!

You are not in Kansas anymore. You are on Pandora, ladies and gentleman.

We went to Radius Church this morning.  Jeff preached on the ten brides and being prepared.
The 5 reasons we may be unprepared are:
1. Laziness
2. Too Busy
3. Pride
4. Lack of forethought
5. Over dependent

I really like this sermon and it got me thinking.  What things in my life are size of being lazy, busy, and prideful?  Good food for thought.  I'm up for going again next Sunday.

We wandered around Desert Ridge for a couple hours afterwards and I read part of Wintergirls.  I didn't finish it so I can't count it yet.

We saw Avatar at Imax3D and it was pretty sweet.  Definietly had a native americans/cowboy vibe, but it was good nonetheless.  The 3D was awesome. It made you feel more in the story.  It was pretty long though, about 3 hours.

Ok off to continue Order of the Phoenix.  I know, I'm really close to finishing it though.

Saturday, January 9, 2010

This IS Sparta!!!

Went and looked at more houses today with Turtle. That was a big waste of time. Hurray!  Turtle talked to another realtor guy though and he seemed to be able to find some good prospects.

Watched 300 and the Star Wars Family Guy movie with the boys.  Good times I guess. I read most of the time.  I'm still not done with Order of the Phoenix. I know I know. I'm pretty sure when I finish the Harry Potter series I'll fly through the next couple of books.

I'm watching my hubby play God of War. It's a pretty sweet game. I love watching him play games and yelling out ideas for how to beat certain parts.  I find that much more enjoyable than playing games myself.  I know...I'm awesome. :)

We're going to Radius Church tomorrow morning. I'll write tomorrow about what we think.  It seems like it'll be pretty good.  I'd really like to get back to going to church reguarly, but I really haven't find any place I want to go to more than once.  We'll see how tomorrow goes. :)

Again no book count because I'm sad. haha.

Friday, January 8, 2010

Kaboom!

I spent all day looking at houses online. Tomorrow we're going to meet with some Realtor lady and maybe go check out some places.

The hubby and I watched Law Abiding Citizen tonight.  Pretty sweet movie! I love smart movies with intelligent characters. Makes me want to come up with intelligent characters.  I want to write something where the character keeps you thinking until the end when this big plot twist is revealed.

Every time someone was going to die I yelled KABOOM! Hence the title of this post. Teehee. I'm a sick individual.

In other news, I'm still reading Order of the Phoenix. I'm going to try to finish it by tomorrow night. That's the plan at least. It's not that I'm reading it slow, it's just so long.

Ok off to read some more. See ya.

Arg the Pain!

Migraines suck!

Had another migraine today.  I think maybe it's the apple juice I've been drinking. That stuff is so good though. So sad.

Anywho making chicken and onion rings for myself since the hubby is at Turtle's.  I'm glad he has somewhere to go every week and people to hang out with. I wish I had that.  I'd even be happy with a book club.  I need kids so I can go to Mommy and Me groups. haha.

I'm still reading Order of the Phoenix so I'm not even going to put my book count since I feel like a failure right now.  I think in my book journal I'm going to keep track of the number of pages I read. That might make me feel a little better.

So yeah going to eat dinner and read HP till my hubby makes me go to bed.

The End of Things

Well some things come to an end. It seems in my life a lot of friendships end and I don't really know why. It makes me kind of sad.  Do I have some big character flaw I'm not aware of?

"You've changed so much. I guess that's what happens. I wish you knew how much you changed me. I wonder if I changed you, if your life is different because of me. Because mine's different. My God, you taught me so much, and now we don't even talk to each other. I guess that's what happens.

Life sucks...but I guess it's time to move on. We've been what we've needed to be in each others lives, but we're two different people. You've meant the world to me and you'll always hold a special place in my heart and my memories.

Maybe when we're older we can talk."

That's what I wrote to someone today.

Anyway I'm off to read some more Order of the Phoenix. Yup.

Book Count: Still at 1...shut up...Order of the Phoenix is over 800 pages! I think I'm doing really good.

Cell Phones, Movies, and Ice Cream

I'm HOME! YAY!

I'm finally home from Flagstaff.  I had a blast, but it's good to be home. I missed my puppies, my bed and my interwebz. We played lots of Rockband and Guitar Hero and had some good bestie bonding time.  I rock at singing in Rockband. :)

Mikey and I went to the outlet mall on the way home today and I bought another book to add to my stack. I figure if I'm going to read 50 books I have to own 50 books right? Shut up and let me enjoy my addiction.

We went and saw Sherlock Holmes tonight. It was pretty good, but a bit drawn out.  I love Robert Downey JR. He's amazing.

Funny story from the theater:
So we were watching the preview from some movie whose title I can't recall.
Girl 1 sitting in front of us: "Did they even have cell phones back then?"
Girl 2: "Yeah except they were connected to the wall."
Now you have to take into account that the movie took place in 1986. She said BACK THEN! I was a year old in 1986. The girl said it like it was a hundred years ago.  Ridiculous.  I love people sometimes. They're so failpuppy.

Anyway on that note I'm going to eat my ice cream and stare at my new shoes. Aren't they awesome!

Current Book Count: 0...Fail.

Happy New Year!!!!

It is officially 2010!!!

I was able to get on internet here in Flag so no crazy phone posts!

So today officially starts my "resolutions".  I am going to be writing in this EVERYDAY and I'm going to be reading EVERYDAY with a goal of atleast 50 books for 2010.  I am going to also be writing for nanowrimo this year. Yay me!

I'm having a blast in Flagstaff. Partied last night with my Flag-friends and went to breakfast with the Bestie this morning.  A little drama last night, but I'm not going to write about it because its not worth remembering.  I haven't got to play Beatles Rockband yet, but that will be happening as soon as I'm back at the house!

We're staying up here another night since we never end up making it up here for any length of time.  I miss Evan sometimes. He is so cute. That little boy is a big part of my world.

Well 2010 it's good to meet you! This year is going to be awesome. I will make it awesome. Anyone who wants to make it notsome better just disappear now. Like I said in yesterday's post I'm done with petty and lame people who make life crap.

Beatles Rockband here I come!

Book Count: Reading Goblet of Fire still. Not done with it so right now I'm at 0. Go me.
